Minima II - A Diamond in the Field

The Minima II Baseball Scorecard gets some more Style

I been bumbling about the internet this past week looking for a way to add an out-field icon to the diamond centred at-bat box. Success I think. The field icon image makes the scorecard easier to understand --- although the colour is a little hard on the eyes, I may change it - what do you think?

All this is part of a next step in the development of this blogger scorecard - to eliminate some more writing. I want to mimic the lines people draw on their pencil and paper scorecards that indicate the trajectory and depth of balls hit.

As in the example on the right, top - an at-bat box from a Microsoft Word scoring system - the squiggly line heading towards left field indicates a ball batted between the third base and shortstop positions. The length of the line indicates it was fielded by someone on the infield.

The middle image is how I score that play now in the Blogger Baseball Scorecard: the orange colour along the first base side of the diamond indicates a runner is on first base. The first line of writing in the text area means a ground ball (GB) was hit between third base (5) and shortstop (6). The next line says the third-base-person fielded the ball (5) and then threw the ball - errantly - to the first-base-person (E5th).

The bottom image is how I'd like to do it; I cheated in a line with Microsoft Paint. The white line gets rid of a lot of writing - now the only text that is necessary to indicate the play is the error throwing notation.

The question is, what kind of software would allow a user to draw a line from the bottom tip of the diamond to any point in the 90° of the playing area?
