* R Branyan ball was hit off the plate, a high bounce - short stop kicked what needed to be a catch and throw to first; runner Kearns, coming from 1st rounded 2nd and got caught between 2nd and 3rd.

Carmona can't throw strikes. 6 & 7 batters in the Boston order helped him out - hitting pitches out of the zone. The ump seems to be callinG the third pitch a strike if its in the field of play, no matter what, it's saved Carmona; I think he'd be out of the game by now if not for that strange thing the home plate umpire is doing - does he have a plane to catch?
