Live Score Card: Philadelphia Phillies at New York Yankees - Game 3

Philadelphia Phillies at New York Yankees
7:05 PM ET, June 17, 2010
Yankee Stadium, New York, NY
Kendrick (3-2, 4.80 ERA) v Pettitte (8-1, 2.46 ERA)

It's the rubber match. The Yankees have been, are, are continuing to be, HOT. They're tied now with the Tampa Bay Rays for first in the AL East - for the first time this year.

Phillie, not so much right now. A series win in an American league park against the Yankees probably won't make any difference to them, it's weird if your going good and lose in Interleague it doesn't count, if you suck like the Phillies and Jays of late, and you lose an Interleague game or two, ... or three - it's time to Lynch Bud Selig again.

On Selig and his Legacy, Interleague play - and maybe if it goes down right, the end of the DH - he should get a statue at Cooperstown the same size as Curt Flood's, imho. ;)

Game notes:

8:26 PM ET - Well, this is embarrassing, I slept in! It's already the 6th and I haven't even got the lineups in.

Top of 9
Francisco AB, batted ball hits Ibanez who was advancing to 3rd. Jeter is waiting on one knee right behind the base runner as the ball hits Ibanez's heel. The ball maintains it's speed and only changes it's vector by about 5 degrees, just enough to go by Jeter and off into left field. Jeter stands up and starts trotting off the field; I surmise he's saying to the 2nd base umpire on his way by, 'the ball hit the runner - he's out, I'm going to the dugout'.
No umpire saw what happened, so they huddle and apparently decide Jeter is telling the truth - end of inning.
??? Yankee "Magic" again. ???

I'm happy because I'm out of AB boxes and adding another column is a pain. But, what up with that?

The cameras barely pick up the play, I didn't see as it happened an neither did the announcers, the camera that showed what happened was almost in line with the batted ball, and showed that the ball changed direction - barely.
